Stephen leads Atlas and has a career spanning over 30 years in the Public Sector. Stephen is a qualified chartered surveyor, specialising in property functions and regeneration developments.
Stephen joined Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (The Trust) in 2014, from Blackpool Council, where he took on the responsibly for the Trust’s Estates and Community Facilities Management functions.
During this time, the service moved across to become Atlas BFW Management Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, launching in March 2017.
Head of Medical Engineering
Darren is our Head of Medical Engineering, managing a team of 16. He brings over 34 years’ experience managing engineering and property maintenance in the healthcare, local government and chemical production industries.
With a BSc (Hons) in Construction Project Management from the University of Central Lancashire and a Level 4 Diploma in Health Emergency Planning from Loughborough University, Darren has extensive Health and Safety, emergency and business continuity planning experience with extensive experience in contract management and contractor supervision.
Darren spent ten years as a Special Constable and is a qualified level one RFU coach.
Head of Estates
Phil heads up our Estates department, looking after a team of over 60. He brings over 32 years’ experience in the construction industry, nine of those at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, spanning maintenance management and project management, contract management, Health and Safety, in both the public and private sectors. .
With a BSc (hons) in Construction Management from The University of Bolton, Phil is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB) and holds both NEBOSH and General and Construction Certificates.
Phil’s key strengths include: Health and Safety training; advice; CDM coordination; construction and contract management; maintenance contract management; project management; planning; change management and operational management.
Outside of work, Phil is a level one certified FA football coach.
Head of Capital and Property Services
Craig heads up our Capital Developments and Property Services department, leading a team of four. Craig and his team manage multi-million pound property projects for Blackpool Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
With over 20 years’ experience working for Blackpool Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Craig started his career as an electrical engineer, before progressing as a manager within each principal sector of Hard Facilities Management, including: The Estates Department, Medical Engineering: Capital Developments and Property Services.
Head of Human Resources
Patrick is a qualified Human Resource Executive, with 30 years’ professional experience in high volume FMCG, automotive, rail transport, engineering and service provision environments, in multi-union and non-union organisations.
Currently heading up Atlas’ Human Resources (Business Unit) team, Patrick has a degree in politics from the University of Liverpool and is CIPD qualified. With extensive experience in all aspects of HR, Patrick has worked in both public and blue-chip private sector companies in the UK, Europe and United States.
Over the course of his career, Patrick has been involved in: lean and continuous improvement; leadership development; change management; employee engagement; coaching; mentoring and organisational strategy, design and development.
Patrick has a 2nd Dan Black Belt in Taekwondo and is qualified instructor and former Team GB member, actively supporting the GB Taekwondo Rio Olympic Games campaign in Brazil. He is also a Thai Boxing and Kick Boxing ex-national champion.
