Keeping the hospital running: Medical Equipment Library.

Team members in the Medical Equipment Library
Providing clinicians with 24/7 access to over 1,000 essential medical devices per month – from syringe drivers, to IV pumps, Atlas BFW Management Ltd's (Atlas') Medical Equipment Library is based in our Medical Engineering Department at our Blackpool Victoria Hospital site.
The Library team of four loan out and collect essential medical devices from the wards, as well as ensuring they are decontaminated and make ready the devices ready for re-circulation.
They also audit devices round the wards to make sure they are on the correct patients they were loaned for and are on hand to deal with any enquires.
Essential to the smooth running of this essential service is the team, led by Team Leader, Emma Bradshaw.
Emma who was recently appointed to the position, joined Atlas in 2018 as Medical Equipment Library Assistant, fought off stiff competition to be successful in her application and interview for the role.
