Lighting it up!
National Grief Awareness Week 2020, is a time for us all as a community to come together, reflect and remember all those affected by loss this year and in previous years.
The annual national event is driven by the Good Grief Trust, the UK’s leading umbrella charity, bringing all UK bereavement services, support organisations and helplines together and aims to raise awareness of the impact of grief and loss on a national platform, with lots of different ways to get involved.
On December 8, at 6pm, Blackpool Tower, Blackpool Victoria Hospital and the windmills at Lytham and Marton were lit yellow as a symbol of togetherness, from the teams at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals and throughout our community.
We were proud to be able to ensure Blackpool Victoria Hospital was lit up - with the lights used being turned in to a permanent feature at the Hospital.
More on this in the New Year.
