Managing Director's Blog May 2021.
As I approach my first month with Atlas, I’m proud to say that I have met, and continue to meet some passionate and very talented people. All with great ideas about how we move our Company forward.
As we continue on our year of stabilisation, I want to stress that the changes we are making are as much about delivering for our shareholder and clients, as they are for delivering a Company worthy of our staffs' collective talent.
We are striving to create a Company where our people can progress and prosper; a Company for which I want our staff to want to jump out of bed to come to each day!
his starts with knowing our people.
Last week, I took time to visit our Community divisions in Lancaster and Morecambe, where I met our Domestics, Transport and Estates teams who deliver services to our clients, including, Blackpool Teaching Hospitals, University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay and Trinity Hospice.
Their approach to delivering for the client, to looking out for each other and to the values of our Company makes them living, breathing examples of our core value pledges.
I met the Community Domestic Team and heard inspiring stories of how they dealt with Covid, as well as their innovative ideas for the future. I also spent time with staff members who have dedicated their career to working within the NHS and Atlas.
It was clear from talking with the Community Estates and Transport Teams, that they are ready and willing to drive Atlas forward. All had great ideas regarding progressing our services in to the wider footprint, and how we can better use our own resources. I look forward to working with our teams to progress and deliver these ideas.
One of the biggest messages I took away from my time with the teams, is just how much pride is taken in delivering the service for our clients.
I take great inspiration from this, knowing that our teams rise to the challenges we face, with courage, flexibility, resilience and a caring heart.
