They cover demises within many functions both clinical and non-clinical. The team understand the different processes to be followed dependant on the disciplines being undertaken within the space.
With IOSH and COSHH certifications, our domestic teams are able to ensure that our clients’ buildings are safe and aseptic and their work with the Infection Control teams is a fundamental part of the service.
Community Hospital Services

Uniform Services
When a Nurse is stood by your side taking blood, either in the acute or community environments, there is a good chance that the uniform they are wearing has been ordered, altered and delivered to them by our brilliant and expert staff.
Last year we ensured that over 2,500 clinical and non-clinical staff were dressed in appropriate clothing, depending on the service they deliver. Whether that be a nurse, a district nurse, a cleaner or a medical engineer.
Uniforms provide identity and a pride in an organisation. We are proud and honoured to send workforces out dressed appropriately and to ensure they are recognisable.
Atlas also have responsibility for other support services and various contracts such as Pest Control.
Transport
Non-patient, time critical, clinical transport service
Have you ever wondered how your blood, or samples get from A to B, or your medical records arrive with the right Consultant?
Our transport team deliver a non-patient, time critical, clinical transport service. They staff are fully trained and comply to the relevant legislation.
A team of skilled drivers travel over 260,000 miles each year across Lancashire and South Cumbria. They transport tens of thousands of clinical items each year – ranging from histology and pathology specimens, to medical records and radioactive materials.
As a clinician, or patient, this service is vital as it involves the movement of goods and sensitive personal data which contribute toward diagnosis and subsequent treatment of patients.
Because of the valued nature of our cargo, our staff follow strict guidelines and are advanced drivers.
Using a specialist web-based system, our drivers can keep in touch at all times. The routes that they take each day are tracked not only to ensure the safe delivery of goods, but also to support the wellbeing of our drivers – as they tackle the busy transport infrastructure across our footprint.
