Atlas is on a mission to inspire the next generation to choose a career in healthcare facilities
Blackpool-based Healthcare Facilities Management and Property Services company, Atlas BFW Management Ltd (Atlas), is on a mission to show the next generation of workers that a career within healthcare facilities offers much more than they might have thought.
As experts in healthcare facilities and property management, Atlas deliver fully managed healthcare facilities services and property management solutions, to clients throughout Lancashire and South Cumbria.
Atlas’ mission to inspire the next generation to work within healthcare facilities is something very close to its Managing Director, Les Stove’s heart, who has a career spanning over 30 years of NHS experience, in both Acute Hospitals and Primary Care Trusts, delivering a breadth of facilities services.
Les has always understood the importance of the non-clinical functions within the healthcare sector and is keen to promote the benefits a career in this sector can bring, to both the individual and the wider-healthcare economy.
Les explains his passion for this project: “I am keen to showcase the non-clinical professions in the healthcare sector, of which I am extremely proud to be a part of. I want to ensure that Atlas is able to support and nurture our local talent to reach their potential, whilst benefitting the wider healthcare-economy.
The list of professions involved is endless and these roles provide essential support to clinical staff, such as doctors and nurses, in delivering the best possible care to service users.”
Les adds: “As a local employer, we are dedicated to training the next generation of healthcare facilities, medical engineering and property management professionals and are working hard to build strong links with Universities, colleges and schools across Lancashire and South Cumbria to help us deliver on our commitment to nurture homegrown talent.”
Les continues: “Over this academic year, we’ll be exhibiting at various careers events across Lancashire and South Cumbria. We’re aiming to give the youngsters, their teachers, and parents a unique insight in to rewarding and sustainable careers within healthcare facilities and property management sector and have already attended several careers events, to show the next generation of talent just what a career in healthcare facilities could look like.
We are working to develop apprentice courses and are offering work experience sessions for those looking to experience the exciting and diverse healthcare facilities sector.”
