Meet Our Medical Engineers.
Our brilliant, problem solving Medical Engineers diagnose, repair and maintain more than 20,000 individual pieces of medical equipment each year.
The hands-on role, performed by the team of dedicated, and highly-skilled engineers ensures that the wide-range of equipment in our care is working properly, and safe to use.
It is this dedication and skill, that protects our clients' staff and patients alike.
Head of Medical Engineering, Daron Wilson, said: “As Atlas continues to grow, so does the team here in Medical Engineering. We’ve a great mix of people, from the veterans of the field, to apprentices.”
Specialist Medical Engineer, David Hampson, said: “The great thing about being a Medical Engineer is that you don’t know what your next job could be.
From the basic service and repair of smaller items of medical equipment, to helping trouble shoot, diagnose and repair faults on
anaesthetic machines, critical care ventilators, or other complex equipment."
David adds: “We work across our clients’ entire footprint – covering Primary and Secondary Care and deal with a wide-range of staff and medical equipment users. Offering assistance in all aspects of Medical Device Management, from its purchase to when it is finally decommissioned.
It is good to know, for our small part, we are keeping the medical equipment in a safe, good working condition for the clinical users to ultimately help patients.”
Medical Engineering Apprentice, Ryan Connor, said: “I’m incredibly grateful to the team at Atlas, who have not only made this possible, but have also supported me so far. I’m looking forward to developing my skills and knowledge over the next few years.”
